um well okay then

Okay so the past several days have been a bit crazy.

My boss' position was eliminated this week. so things have been kinda crazy at work. Kinda is really putting it lightly.

But you know what? I'm up for the challenge. How is a dept of 3 people going to pull everything off? I have no idea. but that's okay. Boy, am I gonna learn alot from this experience.

I have people at corporate at our side and my Executive Director is great so maybe even better things will come from this. Who knows?

And even though I had a few manageable issues with my boss (like who doesn't) - my heart kinda hurts when I see her or think about it. She had been with the organization a long time.

I don't like it when people are unhappy.

Okay, so speaking of happy - Mr. Fitness' bday is this weekend! Woo-hoo! He will be the big 3-0! I'm surprising him and taking him out on Friday night and then on Saturday our new friends are coming over, Dan and Andrea (they got a baby sitter!). And one of Mr. F's bestest friends is flying down for the weekend since its also Dan's bday weekend. So, then on SuperBowl Mr. Fitness' 3-0 Sunday, Dan is having a shin-dig at his house. Should be a fun weekend. At least it better be!

Chad is getting guitar lessons from me (which he knows about) that starts next week and a few other things (that he doesn't know yet). Maybe he will post it on his blog that he never writes on. L-O-S-E-R.

Alrighty - buh bye

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

It's a gorgeous day in paradise. We just came back in from laying out on the beach. Completely relaxing. Here I am reading my new Sookie Stackhouse book.

We went out last night to watch Leo Kottke at the historic Lyric Theatre. I need to find to find out why it's historic.

It was a good show. He played the acoustic guitar. Some songs were just the guitar playing and sometimes he would sing and tell stories. It was funny though because sometimes when you thought he was finished with a song....there would be that one person who would start clapping before he was really finished. I just laughed my arse off. And I'm just glad that person wasn't me! Mr. Fitness referred to them as the Impatient Clapper.

So now I'm just chillin and watching Sober House on our new tv - new for like a month or something. I love it but I don't watch it enough!

Before we went to the beach we played Guitar Hero World Tour and I'm starting to get better at the drums! I want to be able to do Scream Aim Fire by Bullet for my Valentine (who has like a totally crazy drummer) on Hard. I can't do it on Easy yet but I aim high. And I've always wanted to be a chick drummer. Hey, that's something else I could be Made into!

And another thing

This past weekend was the year anniversary of us deciding to move far, far away.

So, yeah. Wow.

A whole year.

Gus Gus

It's cold. Very cold. I slept with 2 quilts and a feather down comforter with the heat on (for the first time since we've lived here) last night. I actually had to go buy a sweater and a long-sleeved shirt since I gave all the ones I had to Hannah Home! I'm pretty convinced my blood has already thinned out.

But alas there is good news. The high all next week is like 80. So no more complaining.

We had a blast with the family over the weekend. It was a bit cold for my liking but it wasn't ten degrees like in The Ham. We didn't get to do everything I wanted but that's just more reason for them to visit again VERY VERY SOON.

I think I had more fun than my nieces meeting Donald and Goofy at the Disney Resort! I so cannot wait to take them to Disney World (probably more for my benefit than theirs, ha!). I'm such a sucker for Disney. I blame it on my parents for force-feeding me the Disney Channel non-stop from the age of 5 on. And, of course, my first VHS was Cinderella, in which I watched over and over. Cinder-elly, Cinder-elly night and day its Cinder-elly.....I was almost 16 when I went to Disney World and it was such a great and memorable trip to this day! I should scan some of those photos! OMG.

Here are some of fave photos from the weekend:

Jazzy was washing Mr. Fitness' hair:

Such a cute pirate:

Beautiful smile:

Yah! It's Goofy!

All but one thing in this picture is blurry. It's Jazzy's terrified face, but she's trying to smile!:

So excited I'm gonna pee in my pants!

Okay - so I'm super duper excited cuz V and S (my bro n law and sis n law) are coming to Florida today! They will be with us all weekend. And they have our two nieces! Yah!

We have plans to go the Disney Resort to have a Beachside Breakfast with Goofy and Donald. And of course just to show them the sights of the Treasure Coast.

What a great weekend!!!!!

Weekend

We had such a good weekend - Chad surprised me Saturday morning with massages! How sweet! It was utterly relaxing...we then had breakfast outdoors at Dena's and laid-out on the beach for like 4 or 5 hours. I even have a tan line! Wow - yes I know even I can get a tan line but the part that is "tan" is pathetic. And any normal person would just look at me and laugh since I call it a "tan". LOL I don't even try anymore.

The moon has been awesome the past several days. I've tried last month to get some good shots but it just didn't turn out but this time I got a few good shots...
Back to work today - ugh but I did get to work from home for a few hours so it was nice just working on the laptop, sending emails, and hearing the ocean. I even saw some dolphins jumping out of the water!

I really liked this plate from Dena's. I wanted to put it in my purse but Mr. Fitness wouldn't let me! Ha - just kidding.

My Get Up and go Just Got Up and Went:

The moon with clouds....

It was so bright! The pictures just do not do it justice!

Do you know who's birthday it is today?

My daddy called me today. I answered the phone and the first thing he says is "do you know who's birthday it is today?". I look at the calendar at the date. January 8th? "Um. No." He said "He would be 74 yrs old today." Oh I got it now. Ding, Ding, Ding. "Oh! It's Elvis' birthday!"

So, later I was on the phone with Mr. Fitness and said "We gotta eat something for supper out of our Elvis cookbook" The thing is most things in the book aren't particularly healthy

We are listening to Channel 13 on Sirius - Elvis Radio and about to eat some cheeseburgers "Elvis style". Except we are using whole wheat buns, turkey instead of hamburger and turkey bacon cooked in the microwave.

Here's to you Elvis Aron Presley...I heart you forever and ever.

2009 resolutions

I decided to not so much do the resolution thing like I typically do because they never really happen. So, I am going to strive to do a few things differently yes but not for resolution sake.

That being said, I do know two toddlers who's New Years Resolutions are to learn to pee and poop in the potty. Go Jasmine and Jacob!

That is the best resolution ever! And I truly hope they succeed.

And I have to add here that I got to talk to my niece Jazzy LuLu over Skype the other night and we showed her the ocean and it was the cutest thing ever to hear her say "wanna see ocean again" - she's gonna love it here when she comes to visit one day and I hope she can convince her parents in her cutest southern Blount County accent to move here!!!!! Wishful thinking I know.

Adventures '08

In no particular order, I would like to recap my great adventures of 2008. Because surprisingly they are actually great. At least to me.

1. We traveled out of the country - twice (Honduras and Bahamas)

Chad and I on a big mountain in Honduras:
More Honduras:

This man and his mule saved my life from the Mountain of Death. I actually rode that tick-infested thing (the mule not the man):

Bahamas!

My first snorkeling trip in Bahamas:

2. I rode on a motorcycle for the first time in my life (video below - not sure it works though)

3. Sold the house I owned for nine years and moved 700 miles away from home.

Our house in Alabama. SOOOO many good memories:

Self-explanatory:

4. We now live on the freakin ocean.
Our new house in Jensen Beach, FL - on the left 10th floor:
The view from our balcony:

5. I skinny-dipped in the ocean. At night. In the Bahamas.

Um, sorry no pics of that...

6. I have a huge tattoo on my back - 5 hours of horrible terrible pain that I would do again...I love my little flyin pixie girl, who is yet to be named. But will have a name one day. :o)

7. About two months after receiving said tattoo mentioned in #6, I got another matching tattoo with my BFF. Mine on my hip. BFF on her lower right back. We so rock.

All I can say is wow what a year - and I can't wait to see what the new year will bring us.
Happy New Year!
