Crotch - oops I mean - Bike Shorts

I bought my triathlon outfit this weekend. 'Tis cute. Pink and black sleeveless top with small reflective flowers on the front and back with black bike shorts. The difference b/n bike shorts and just regular shorts is that they have padding in the crotch area. A LOT of padding. So much so, that the first pair I tried on looked like I had the world's largest camel toe in the history of camel toes. And, it was just the extra padding. While Mr. Fitness went to go get every other bike short they had in my size to try on, I was thinking this triathlon biz was over before it even got started. Because there was no way in H-E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS that I was going out in public looking like that.

Fortunately, I got a different style and those fit way better and were camel toe-less. Thank the good Lord. So now, I'm all set with a cute pink top and crotch shorts - now I just need to learn how to swim and not doggy paddle, be able to turn around while still ON my bike, and run a 5K without walking.

August 16 Sprint Tri - here I come!

House (not the TV show - OUR House - crap, that's a TV show from the 80s) oh whateve...

What a weekend and my body is screaming at me right now.

We had some friends over who helped us fix our ceilings. The ceilings were peeling (it was the paint used not the roof leaking) and it was very distracting. It was the second thing the realtor said we needed to fix. So, we did. The boys did anyway. They look AMAZING now.

And, in the process, the boys decided that one day they will have their own business. NAKED painting. Don't ask. And, to answer your question, yes, alcohol was involved.

Now, the girls, finished the dining room, sitting area and laundry room. We even refloored the laundry room on a whim. It all looks great now. That's right - us girls know how to do carpentry. Move over, Ty Pennington!

So, we are on our way to ALMOST putting the house on the market. The realtor is supposed to come on Tuesday, but I think we are going to have to postpone a few days. There are some little things to do in the house and some things to complete outside. SO, like I said, ALMOST THERE!

Today, we worked outside on trimming the bushes (the first thing the realtor told us to fix). We will probably finish the outside things tomorrow after work. Then take the next few days after that to complete the inside. I swear, when this house finally gets a sign in the front yard, it will truly be a freakin miracle.

OH, and my nails looks like crap now. I just had them done last Monday (enter sad face and a little sniffle here).

WOD 07/20/08

Welcome back to the real world - this is what I keep telling myself.

We got back really late on Saturday and did as little as possible on Sunday.

I didn't do the actual Crossfit program but I did ride my bike with Mr. Fitness.

I did about 3 miles in downtown How Did I End Up Here, USA.

Boy, it was hard and I was drenched. But, Mr. Fitness, as he always does, decides to ride back to the house b/c he wasn't ready to call it quits. In the process, he found a gun in front of the Jack's, and I took it the police dept - and we had to fill out a report. Mr. Fitness met me there and did all the talking. I was a witness. He asked Mr. Fitness all sorts of questions including how tall he was and how much he weighed. I told the officer when he started asking me questions since I was a WITNESS, that I would answer all of his questions EXCEPT how much I weighed. He laughed, fortunately. Did I mention that the gun was FULLY LOADED? It was a 22 Magnum. We may have saved some kids' life by turning it in. The officer was very surprised we turned it in, which befuddled me b/c like why in God's name would we want a gun? with scratches on it? If I wanted a gun, I would buy a shiny new one with pink bullets or something.

Just a taste

of what we experienced today.....

we found the mecca of all coral reefs and omg! it was amazing and scary and just amazing...all kinds of fish EVERYWHERE. A school of fish even swam all around Mr. Fitness and I. I was just astounded - really no words can express. We even saw Dorie (from Finding Nemo) and several angelfish...
We are going to a Dolphin Sanctuary today! Flipper!
Oh yeah and don't tell anyone but we went skinny dipping in the ocean last night. That's right. The ocean. At night. NAKED. Tons of screaming. But it was a blast and so invigorating and scary. What's more is that we were all sober.

Fun Times Mon

Okay, so other than one of the market ladies trying to call security on me and then hexing me with a voodoo curse, we had such a fun day!

Unfortunately, it has rained every day, but it has always cleared up enough for us to enjoy ourselves - Darn it, Bertha.

So we chilled a while and decided to go souvenir shopping. I purchased a few things, bought some Jamaican Me Crazy coffee and a mini cheesecake and off back to the house to go snorkeling.

This was my 3rd time snorkeling on this trip. I won't go into details on the 2nd trip b/c I truly suffered from a panic attack and it's not something I want to relive at this current moment.

Oh, and just so you know, if you are around someone who suffers from a panic attack - yelling at them to "STOP PANICKING - BREATHE AND STOP PANICKING!" Does not help in the least bit. For future reference. Mr. Fitness does not understand this.

Mr. Fitness had a Cuban cigar. It's legal here. He said it was the best cigar he'd ever had and now loves Castro, the moon, Bailea....and the list goes on. That was his Cigar buzz talking. I wonder if he remembers that?

At any rate, it was a blast today. We didn't see as much as we did on our 1st adventure but we went way, way out! It was probably 10 feet of water and pretty clear. We were probably 200 yards off the beach. The weather held out and it was gorgeous. And, we have the hot tub ready and waiting for us tonight!

Oh yeah, we pretty much have the entire beach to ourselves, which is just crazy! It's nothing like Florida or Gulf Shores or any place like that. There is a small resort to the left of us and occasionally, some visitors will walk the beach and pass where we are. So, today there was a hot guy and girl and I swear she had the best butt ever. Mr. Fitness was helping bury the girls in the sand and wasn't paying attention until I pointed it out to him. Then, he dug and stared at the same time. I was staring too. It was like J Lo but better!

Okay, well, we are about to finish our slaughtering of the boys with canasta. Then, off to the hot tub!

L8R, mon!

Ouch! Don't touch me

okay so yeah I'm burned. Partly my fault and partly not. I did not put sunscreen on my legs, so yes that is my fault. They are scorched. The backs of my legs, that is, from snorkeling for 2 hours. Now, I have no idea how my upper back is burned. I applied sunscreen 3 times. Go figure. Gladys, the lady who we are renting the house from, could not believe how white I was. Her hands flew to her mouth and she said "I've never seen anyone so white before!" LOL.

We love snorkeling! We are about to leave to go explore the west end of the island and I hope to go snorkeling afterwards! Yesterday, we saw so many cool creatures! We saw tropical fish, a stingray, sea urchin, sea sponge and a ton of starfish! Coral is everywhere and there are beautiful sea plants that are bright purple. And, all of this is right outside our cottage! Mr. Fitness caught a huge conch shell and he boiled it and ate it! I tried it - tastes like seafood but with a rubbery texture.

Not only am I burned, but I have a massive headache. Not sure if its from all the alchy or b/c of all the sun. Maybe its a little bit of both. I hope it goes away soon.

Shark!

okay so I do have a lot to say but I'm sleeping and intoxicated and playing canasta so I'm going to go to bed soon and really don't feel like talking about the days events and how security at the airport in Fort Lauderdale yelled at me BUT I HAVE TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE FREAKIN SHARK!

OMG - I CRIED! I was so scared I've never felt my heart feel like that unless I was about to die from working out.
So Chad did just happen to say while we were out in the ocean at dusk "sharks come out at dawn and dusk to feed" - our friend had already gotten out of the water and all of a sudden he's pointing saying "there's a shark! how cool!" (please note here that he did not say "get out of the water there is shark!" - and we are now no longer friend)
of course, I was out of the water so fast - and screaming at the top of my lungs on the way out - we all run to go see the shark and it wasn't there - it ate a LARGE fish head that was at the bottom of the water and our friend watched it eat it
AND THEN IT CAME BACK AROUND AND SWARMED AROUND WHERE WE WERE PLAYING IN THE WATER - about sder4eregf
please note if there are random letters or numbers in this it's b/c of our non-friend and trying to screw with me and my laptop
at any rate - the shark was seriously swimming about 2 steps into the water from the beach - no freakin lie
it was so scary
and we found a book in our cottage that shows fish and it listed the nurse shark - so I found that pic at the top of a nurse shark OH AND DID I MENTION THAT IS WAS ABOUT 5 FEET LONG? just wanted to throw that in there
we read that they eat sting rays
okay, gonna finish canasta now - we are beating the boys' tail

OHC Squared

Okay so, OHC Squared is a new possible opportunity that has been laid upon us.

Mr. Fitness had an excellent phone interview yesterday for an Education Supervisor position for a place called Dolphin Quest in Oahu, Hawaii.

Yes, I said it. Hawaii.

So, we will see where OHC Squared leads us. I can't seem to wrap my brain around it right now.

WOD 07/08/08

25 jumping pull-ups
25 push-ups (my style)
25 sit ups on swiss ball

and for added value and additional calories burned: packed for Bahamas, cleaned up the last 2 rooms that were painted and crashed!

Sirius-ly

I heart my Sirius Satellite Radio.

Channel 3 for a limited time is now ABBA radio. All ABBA all the freakin time! DANCING QUEEN! FERNANDO! MAMMA MIA! Of course, its a promo for the new Mamma Mia! movie coming out soon, which I cannot wait to see.

I love it! I listened to it this morning all the way to work! I even heard Dancing Queen in Espanol!

IKEA

I love IKEA. But what's really funny, is that I've never set foot in the store. The closest one is Hotlanta but I've still never been. I have several IKEA pieces that I've purchased off of ebay but that's it. And I have plans, once we move, to purchase some furniture. I ck their website often for inspiration and ideas.

So, in planning to put the house on the market, I went online to get some staging ideas from IKEA, particularly bedding for the master bedroom. I had some good solid pieces, but I felt the room was too dark and needing some lighter color items to make it pop! I found the perfect inspiration! And, it all revolved around a pillow. So, I look at other stores for something similar but came up empty.
When I found out a co-worker was going to IKEA over the weekend, I just about screamed in excitement! And, to top it all off, on her last trip to IKEA had purchased the exact pillow for her living room! Needless to say I'm the new owner of the perfect pillow and I'm extremely impatient b/c I want to go home and make the bed up!

And I'm proud to be an American....

where at least I know I'm free...

I love that song. I get teary-eyed almost every time I hear (which is really like once a year). We went to see the fireworks at Vulcan (mainly b/c I told Mr. Fitness that it may be the last time in a while that we get to see them - if OHC comes through)

This was the longest weekend. We had so much to do and not enough time to fit it all in. But, boy oh boy did we accomplish a lot!

I seriously started to type out the chronological order of events but we DID SO MUCH THIS WEEKEND that I would be here for like an hour still typing.

We still have a few odds & ends to wrap up but hopefully, we can get it all done in the next few days.

Aside from work on the house, we did fit in some fun things, like watch the UFC fight Jackson vs. Griffin - Go Forrest! I finished reading the sequel to Twilight. And, we rode our bikes twice.

So last night, when I finally went to bed, I realized how much I had done and why my body was hurting from head to toe. It was hard to get up this morning.

Sweet Home Alabama - Finnish version

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0lNFRLrP014

The Leningrad Cowboys is a Finnish rock and roll band famous for its humorous songs and concerts featuring the Soviet Red Army Choir.Currently, the band has eleven Cowboys and two Leningrad Ladies. The songs, all somewhat influenced by polka and progressive rock, and performed in English, have themes such as 'vodka', 'tractors', 'rockets', and 'Genghis Khan', as well as folkloric Russian songs, rock and roll ballads and covers from bands as diverse as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, all with lots of humour.

Leopard Print.....

I love my leopard print bra. I wear it as much as I can b/c I love it so much. And it has gold shimmery straps. AND, any faux animal print is appropriate office attire for my place of employment.

But I don't love it when I forget to give myself a "look over" before I leave the house this morning and then realize when I'm in the restroom at work several hours later that you can see straight through my coral button up 3/4 length sleeve blouse and see a leopard under there!

Oye. Now this could be a scene in a Broadway musical IF my interview this afternoon was in person and not over the phone.

Interviews & OHC Update - SHRUBBERY!

So, today I have 3 interviews.

2 in which I'm the interviewer and one of which I'm the interviewee.

That's weird and has NEVER happened in the history of MY life. (Broadway musical potential? eh. yeah, I didn't think so either)

OHC Update: Our Realtor came by the house last night. She looked things over and made a few recommendations but said our house "was cute and we were on the right track (in reference to staging and what we had left to do before we put on the market)".

Harley (our lone dog) growled at her and she jumped. We had to kick Harley out. Harley is our furry version of Sybil. She's a princess. She's a wrestler. She's a guard dog. And other personalities that I can't think of at the moment. (And, I cannot believe I don't have any pictures of her on this friggin computer! Bad Mom!) Mr. Fitness has already taught her a new trick, since she's now spoiled and gets our undivided attention 24/7. She can already sit but now she can lay down after she sits. She really is a smart dog. I want to keep her and take her to South FL with us. I think Mr. Fitness does too but he referenced letting his bro take her while we are in the Bahamas for a "trial run" and I said "if we do that we will never see Harley again" They don't have a fence or anything to keep her close. AND, she was the dog that the vet lost. It took 2 days to find her.

I digress. So anyway, we are going to work on some things (paint and stage 2 rooms, clean out the laundry room and paint, put up new blinds in laundry room, trim all the SHRUBBERY! around the house, cut grass and weed-eat, put down some mulch, clean back patio and stage, place flowers throughout front and back porch and by mailbox, clean out storage room, finish painting trim in living room, stage master bedroom, buy new vent covers, deadbolt lock for front door & faucet for kitchen sink!) this 3-day weekend and call her on Monday for pics, sign papers and put a sign in the yard. Yah!

Geez I'm tired just typing all of that out.

WOD 6/30 & 7/1

WOD 6/30: rest day....yah for that

WOD 7/1: left shoulder still wounded and of course, the WOD is shoulder presses for max effort. I did the stationery cycle machine for approximately 40 minutes - 9 miles.
